This is our first multiple Island journey in the ministry.  It proved to be fruitful we met many Nuibi Indians who spoke wati wati a form of English. It was very hot and we were pretty thirsty and they offered us water apples and oranges a real treat. We hope to go back again unfortunately we are not able to visit them to often due to the cost of boat travel.

The trip to the Islands was beautiful and we saw many dolphins a real adventure.  The trip also was not without incident there are no seeums and I had so many bites that I couldn't count them always a thorn in the side.
Life on Bocas Del Toro is good we get around by bike or water taxi and do most of our shopping off the Island.   The stores on the Island are marked up so high you would think you were in the middle of a gold rush.  Looked for vanilla for baking and a small bottle at the Gourmet Store was $15 they really take advantage of the tourist.  You really have to go from store to store to try to get the best prices.

The best place to go for shopping is in David which is about 4 hours away but well worth the journey.  You can get anything you need at very reasonable prices and the trip is beautiful.  More often then not you will need to spend the night at a hotel due to the hours of the water taxis.  However it is well worth it you are still ahead of the prices in Bocas and they have very good restaurants to eat at.

Our little congregation on the Island is well known by all and is very close and full of love.  We are all one family helping each other in any way we can. The brothers go and help out english speaking groups by giving talks and helping in service.  This takes a complete day to give talks in two different towns due to the travel times and then running back to the water taxi.  This too can be tricky because you can get soaked with water either from rain or just riding in the boat.  It is best to get dressed after you reach your destination so that you won't be in wet clothes.  The brothers appreciate any help that you can give them because the work in great and the workers are few.

We enjoy our new assignment on the Island but we miss our brothers in Ecuador and the U.S. we have such a wonderful organization of spiritual brothers and are truly blessed to get to know and work with so many in this great work.
